SITUATION VACANT

Ministry of Education invites applications from eligible/ suitable candidates for the post of Director, Pakistan Study Centre, University of Balochistan, Quetta.

2. BPS, maximum age limit, qualification, experience, publications and nature/ terms of appointment prescribed for the post are as under.

BPS: 20/21

Maximum age limit:

56 years (relax-able maximum up to two years by the competent authority i.e Minister for Education on the recommendation of the Selection Board in case of deserving candidates).

Qualification/ experience/ publication:

a) Ph.D in the relevant field from an HEC recognized university.
b) 15-years teaching/ research experience (with at least 8 years experience at the post-Ph.D level) in an HEC recognized university or a post-graduate institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization.  OR

10-years post-Ph.D teaching/ research experience in an HEC recognized university or a post-graduate institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a national or internationally organization.
c) 15 research publications (with at least 5 publications in last 5 years) in internationally abstracted refereed journals.
d) Candidates having administrative experience in a university (national / international) Organization e.g. Chairmanship of a Development of a university or Deanship of a Faculty of a university or Acting Directorship of Center etc. will be given preference.

Nature / terms of appointment:

The appointment may be made either on regular basis or on contract basis to be decided through negotiation. In case of contract appointment it will be initially for a period of two years extendable on two yearly basis subject to satisfactory performance.

Grant of B-21:

a) The eligible and suitable candidates having already 04 years of work experience in B-20 may  be appointed in B-21
b) A professor appointed in B-20 on regular basis would be granted B21 after completion of four years service as a Professor provided he/ she would have published at least 05 research papers in internationally abstracted/ refereed journals during his/ her appointment as professor (B-20).

• Candidates are advised to send their applications along with their C.V. on the prescribed proforma which may be obtained, free of cost, from the office of the undersigned as well as may be downloaded form the Ministry of Education's website www.moe.gov.pk. The candidates are also advised to attach copies of their academic certificates/ degrees and experience certificates as well as three sets of their publications.
• In-service candidates should apply through proper channel (they have to submit NOC of their employer before the date of interview, in any case).
