In A Leading Pakistani Commercial Bank

A leading and one of the largest commercial bank of the country with global market prominence is inviting applications against the following positions from dynamic professionals who are result-oriented with proven track record and analytical mindset to work at Legal Division in a challenging environment. The individuals who fulfill the criteria may apply for the following positions:

Regional Litigation Head

Qualification:    • Bachelor Degree in Law from a University/Institute recognized by HEC

Age:       • Up to 55 Years

Experience: • Overall 07 years' experience, out of which minimum 03 years' experience in handling litigation cases Place of Posting:

Place of Position: • Hyderabad/Multan/Karachi/Peshawar/Sargodha/Sialkot/Sukkar)

Outline of Main Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Implement the litigation policies/procedures across the region

·         Setting and communicating the general performance and operational targets in relation to litigation portfolio

·         Liaison with the Counsels, attending courts on critical nature of cases, businesses and to manage litigation portfolio with an aim to mitigate legal risks and to dispose of the cases effectively and efficiently

·         Liaising with counsels dealing with region cases with an objective to ensure that litigation support is provided to them for the discharge of their responsibilities in court(s)

·         Ensure that all litigation related risk management measure are in place

·         Coordinating with business heads/groups in litigation affairs

·          Supervising the regional expenses and MIS reporting

Legal Consultant (Karachi)

Qualification:    • Bachelor Degree in Law, preferably LLM from a University/Institute recognized by HEC

Age: • Up to 40 Years

Experience: • Overall 08 years' relevant experience, out of which 04 years with banking industry

Outline of Main Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Provide expert legal advice to executives on various legal issues which include but are not limited to general banking laws, labour laws and & financial industry related issues

·         Collaborate with management to devise efficient strategies to deal with critical banking industry issues

·         Review, develop and implement legal framework with the application of effective risk management

·         Ensure positive communication and good relationships with internal & external stakeholder's i.e. internal executives, regulators, external counsel etc

·         Draft and vet agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure that bank is not exposed to any legal issue and its rights are well protected

·         Analyze, recommend and implement Centralized Legal policy & procedures

·         Stay abreast with the legislative developments especially relevant to the banking industry

Court Coordinator (Karachi & Islamabad)

 Qualification: • Graduate, preferably Bachelor Degree in Law from a University/Institute recognized by HEC

Age: • Up to 55 Years

Experience: • Overall 08 years' relevant experience, out of which 05 years with banking industry Outline of Main Duties/Responsibilities:

·         Attend the court on regular basis on all critical cases

·         Having close liaison with the counsels and businesses to comply with court orders, issuance of notices, warrant of arrest publication etc

·         Provide update information to the Legal department after attending court hearings

·         Ensure that counsels are appearing in courts and submit report to MIS on regular basis

·         Ensure that businesses are providing requisite support to the counsel

·         Effective handling of litigation affairs

·          Working with close liaison with Litigation team and to work as per set out goals, objectives, managing performance, providing formal and informal feedback to maximize overall performance engagement and motivation

·         Support other Legal functions to achieve departmental goals

Legal Support Analyst (Karachi)

Qualification:  Graduate from a University/Institute recognized by HEC

Age:  Up to 40 Years

Experience: Overall 06 years' experience in the relevant field. Must have analytical skills

Special Skills/Expertise Requirements:

Analytical abilities to analyze and develop the efficient legal MIS system

Have strong background in information management System especially Legal related in a comparable banking institution

Statistical & quantities expertise i.e. regression modeling, descriptive statistics etc would be an added advantage especially previous experience in legal analytics

Outline of Main Duties/Responsibilities:

·          Develop, organize and maintain the legal information system in the optimum manner which shall essentially provide intelligent, meaningful and pro-active insight into the legal cases at hand

·         Assist the management for pro-active monitoring and surveillance of significantly large legal cases portfolio

·         Maintaining the updated MIS system with correct and meaningful information

·         Generating the MIS reports for management to assist in monitoring & decision making

·         Modeling the legal surveillance and decision making tools based on theMIS data to aid in the analysis of the large portfolio and pro-active raising of flags e.g. a system automatically raising flags on redundant hearing day remarks, pointing out a potential lapse on lawyer's part

·         Develop and rate on the basis of performance assessment matrices of legal department stakeholders i.e. lawyers, legal officers and concerned relationship managers

·         Proper tagging of the legal opinions and other advisory tasks for future collaborative use

·         Repository development and keeping the digital record of the legal files


·         Only shortlisted candidates meeting the eligibility criteria will be called for interview

Employment Type:

·         The employment will be on Contractual basis, initially for three years and renewable with mutual consent. Selected candidates will be offered compensation package and other benefits as per Bank's Policy/rules
